Energie Helpline UK

The Energie Helpline UK is a free, Government-funded service that promotes the EU energy funding programmes in the UK and provides support to organisations bidding for European funding.

EU funding for energy projects

Framework Programme 7 (FP7), the EU's funding programme for research and technological development, has a budget of 2.35B€ for energy projects between 2007 and 2013.

Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) is the EU's tool for funding action to improve market conditions and move us towards a more energy intelligent Europe. The Programme has a budget of 727M€ between 2007 and 2013.

The overall objectives of the programmes are fundamentally different, with FP7 looking to fund projects that conduct research and demonstration into innovative technologies and IEE funding projects that remove the barriers to the market uptake of these technologies. FP7 and IEE both contribute towards the achievement of EU policy in relation to the rational use of energy and the increased use of renewable energy sources.
